The Meaning of Chivalry

A poetic expression of integrity, strength and honor

Chivalry Is …

A kind word to a stranger,
A smile for those in need,
Sincerity in every action,
Both in word and deed.

Not the glory in the winning
But honor in the game,
A hand outstretched to help a child,
Unseeking of fortune or fame.

Anger quickly managed,
Prudence swiftly sought,
Strength for those with weakness,
And character that can’t be bought.

Beyond the battles on the field,
Past the crowds beneath the tree,
Grace, courage and honor
Is what Chivalry means to me.
